Wow. Posting has been a little infrequent the last couple months. My apologies.
So what’s going on in my sewing room?! I am getting started with a few new projects. Pretty dresses and recycled fashion, yay!
I am going to be participating in a reworked fashion show they are having at the Costume Museum at 109 Pacific Ave. It’s on March 8th at 8pm(doors at 7:30). So there will be craft tables set up and a runway show all displaying clothes and goodies made from second hand materials. All right! I love creative recycling.
Next, I will be working on a grad dress for a lovely girl I met through this very website! It’s going to look gorgeous on her. It’s a floor length, kind of drapey, Grecian style dress with a cowl neckline. The braided straps will come into one at the back, and there will be strings of beads coming out from the middle of the braid to the waist. Can’t wait to see how it turns out…
Lastly, I may be potentially making a dress for my sister’s friend Viola. She has a big award ceremony in Las Vegas (yeah!) and needs a dress made. She has this beautiful fabric a friend brought from India (described to me as a lightweight, drapey, irridescent, colourful fabric), and needs someone to transform it for her. Oh, I would love to work with these beautiful imported materials. Call me soon Viola!
I will keep my blog audience in the know about progress in the workshop!
