drunk on fashion!

Oh boy, I am feeling good about clothes I’ve just made.

Last night was the Green is the New Black fashion show at the costume museum, which went swimmingly, except for one shirt that I lost on the way to the show. Arrggh! I am so frustrated because I still can’t find it. Ah well, the rest of the show was awesome, and I will put up some pictures as soon as we have access to the photographer’s shots.

As well, I finished Viola’s dress this weekend and she came to pick it up today. OOOO, it looked beautiful on her and I quote

“it was exactly what I wanted!” -Viola

Certainly, NO ONE will have any similar type of dress at her Las Vegas event. I am always so pleased when things (another quote) “surpass expectations” of a client. I am never more happy than when the client is completely satisfied. She will be sewing on tiny crystals to accent the tucks on the skirt, and the trim around the waist, to sparkle it up. Also, she took what minimal fabric scraps there were, and yarns from the fabric where I made the edges fringey, so that she could construct a fluffy flower to attach at the middle or side of the bust line, like a matching corsage. So… Absolutely NO waste whatsoever. Incredible! What a dream project. This dress will keep me on a high for a while.

Next project, a retro style cocktail dress for my friend Kristen.
