I love this suit, and it comes with an amazing story. I had this suit up for sale at Sew Dandee a couple years ago, and it was bought before I could get a picture of it, which I cursed myself for. This year I met Andrea who offered up her modeling skills for the Green is the New Black fashion show. When she came over to try on the previous two outfits posted, she asked if by chance I had made an orange and blue tweed suit sold at Sew Dandee. She was the one who had bought it, and she recognized my name! She ended up bringing it to England and wore it to an antique car show. I love when my clothes travel and go international. Wow. I was so happy to meet the woman who had bought it, and to see my (her) suit again. My clothes are like my babies.
So, I got her to model this outfit as well, since it was made from second hand vintage fabric that was donated to the U of M, when I was attending the Clothing and Textiles program there. It has a contrast collar, cuffs, and ruffled hem in a large print floral upholstery fabric, and the lining is a bright orange silky fabric. My husband Don helped me to design this suit, and I brought our vision to fruition.
