I used purple satin in the front as a shiny ruched panel and purple knit in the back to allow it to fit the body without a zipper. The back of the dress has rows of vertical fitting darts across it. The straps on the dress are adjustable in length by pulling them tighter to form a bow in the front. The bubble skirt is attached to a wide, tight fitting knit band that you can pull higher or lower, depending on whether you want it showing or not.
The shrug is made of a soft comfy sweater knit to which I added a hot pink lace trim to liven up its muted colour. I like the somewhat monochromatic colour schemes in this outfit, and the contrasting textures in the materials.
