Herstory

What’s her story, anyway?

I have always loved clothes and choosing what to wear. I have worn some pretty unusual outfits in my time, and I love seeing others do the same.

I went to university and got my Bachelor of Human Ecology, majoring in clothing and textiles. I had been sewing for years before that, but I did learn many valuable things about my discipline. I took interesting courses in textile science, the psychology of clothing, economics of the industry, and practical courses. Some things were more interesting than others.

Anyways, I’d like to devote my life to helping people by clothing them. I solve clothing problems and try to also help the earth through my practices. I make my own designs as well as cooperating with outside constraints. I like using reclaimed materials and old clothing to reduce the impact of textile waste, in the way that I can.

I love clothes.
I love fabric.
I love colours.
I love textures.
I love diversity.
I love expressing myself.
I love seeing other people express themselves.
I love helping people figure out how to do that.
I love when people feel good about their appearance.
I love when function meets aesthetic.
I love experimentation and learning.
I love working with and for the earth.
I love getting other people to think about the earth.
I love using my creativity to reduce excess waste.
I love to create and contribute to earth’s beauty.
I love what I do.
